Harvest time on the Granite Belt
Summer and Autumn area unique time on the Granite Belt, its harevest time for apples and grapes. You can visit and pick your own fresh fruit off the tree or vine. There is nothing like the crunch of a fresh apple straight from the tree. What a great family experience!
If you don’t feel like picking your own, you can find lots of fresh local seasonal fruit for sale. The road from Stanthorpe to Warwick has a number of fruit vendors, but we personally love a visit to Sam’s Fresh Produce at Thulimbah!
If you are lucky enough you could also jag a place at helping with a local wineries grape harvest, or become a winemaker for the day! The harvest is a special time on the Granite Belt with so much happening in the wineries. A few of the wineries listed are where you could meet the winemaker/vignerons at their cellar door: Bungawarra Wines, Art of Krupinski, Casley Mt Hutton, Girraween Estate, Jester Hill Wines, Pyramids Road Wines, View Wine by Sancerre Estate and Ravenscroft Vineyard..
