Location
The Granite Belt Motel is perfectly situated in Stanthorpe for the ultimate escape to the Granite Belt region. Located a two and a half hour scenic drive from Brisbane or under two hour drive from Toowoomba, the Granite Belt is famous for its wine, tranquil landscape and hospitality. Our motel is located on the main street of Stanthorpe but positioned away just enough to maintain an intimate atmosphere. We’re also just a short stroll from one of Stanthorpe’s best kept secrets – the Sentimental Rocks nature reserve .

Sentimental Rocks
Hidden away and just a 3 minute walk from our Motel, Sentimental Rocks is what we like to call our “mini Girraween”. The rocks are a collection of giant granite boulders that were formed millions of years ago by a volcano. Over time, weather has slowly chipped away at the rocks, leaving the large granite boulders balancing on top of each other as they can be seen today.
Few visit Sentimental Rocks as it’s even unknown to some of the locals here. However it’s the perfect taste of the region’s famous granite rock formations for those visitors who don’t have time to go hiking at Girraween. Guests at our Motel often remark at the beauty of the lesser-known nature reserve and just how close it is to our Motel. Lucky us!
