Things to do in Stanthorpe – Walk Quart Pot Creek Parklands

 

If you are looking for things to do in Stanthorpe then, just a short walk from the Granite Belt Motel, down Wallangarra Rd, Stanthorpe you will find the Quart Pot Creek Parklands. The parklands has 5kms of well maintained walking tracks that follow Quart Pot Creek along. The track links from Brittania St in Stanthoroe to the iconic Red Bridge and back.

Quart Pot Creek meanders through our beautiful township of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt and includes secluded natural granite rock formations and natural bushland. Granite outcrops are scattered along the creek and you will find great spots to sit, fish or picnic. Barbeques are located in two areas near the Stanthorpe Visitor centre and at the Monkey Park off Kilpa Streets. Enjoy a walk through the grove of planted treees which will take you in the direction of our Stanthorape Library and Stanthorpe Art Gallery located at Weroona Park in Marsh Street.

Take time to walk alongside this beautiful creek, past water-worn granite boulders; watch for native birds, try to spot the catfish nests in the shallow waters, check out the water dragons in front of the visitor center or paddle at the water’s edge or just relax under the shade of a tree.

Near the Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre you will find Stanthorpe’s Big Thermometer where you can see how cold it really is! You can get a great photo if you sit inside the bottom circle.

On saturday morning Stanthorpe Park Run have their weekly event, the starting point is in Talc St near the Stanthorpe Fitness Centre.
